Magna Deca free essay sample
Jim Sherwood, the marketing manager of a consumer goods company called Magna Deca had his attention caught by direct marketers that were working with the continuously growing home fitness equipment market. Jimââ¬â¢s company focused mainly on marketing through traditional channels. However he was eager to get into direct response marketing and felt they had found an appropriate product to do so. Magna Deca had acquired an at-home physical fitness gym that sold at less than $500. 00. If the market was there, Magna Deca was ready to test it out and see what direct response marketing would do. With that said, a direct response advertising firm was hired to come up with a test direct marketing plan. The plan that was suggested includes simultaneous testing of four positioning concepts and five magazines from five different media groupings at the same time. The names of 20,000 subscribers of five different magazines were to be rented and one quarter of each of these 20,000 subscribers sets were to be exposed to one of four positioning concepts. We will write a custom essay sample on Magna Deca or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page A decision was made that a test program would be run under the name Personal Fitness System. In order to test both media and the message, 5,000 subscribers from each magazine would be mailed a lead generation piece that would be built around each of the four positioning themes. These themes are contained in the following headlines for four different self-mailers: 1. $500 wonââ¬â¢t pay for much medical care, but it could buy a lifetime of better health. 2. You donââ¬â¢t have to spend hours jogging to get the exercise you really need. . Give your family the benefit of a complete $40,000 gym for less than $500 4. The Million Dollar Body for less than $500 Yes, I think that the Family gym is a viable direct response product because it is targeting entire families at once. By encouraging a healthy, fit family, this gives the buyer more reasoning to purchase the equipment in order to not only benefit themselves but their family as well. Motivations for buying a family gym would be: $There is no traveling time to the gym People feel more comfortable exercising in the privacy of their own home if they dislike the gym atmosphere $Family gym would be much less expensive than gym memberships for the entire family $A family gym is convenient in the fact that you can exercise whenever the time is right for you $Family gym could become an activity to spend quality time and stay active with family members This relates to positioning because it sets the family gym apart from main competition which would be an actual gym facility. The motivations and attributes of the family gym give meaningful and beneficial reasons to the consumer on why the family gym is more convenient choice than gym facilities to the consumer. The combination of attributes would also allow the company to position for competitive advantage. The media that the company is using is magazines. I think that all of the choices for magazines to position the concepts in are viable to targeting men and possibly their family members when looking at the family gym aspect. Business week using the health improvement, alternative to jogging and family gym positioning concepts. Playboy could be associated with any of the concepts Sports Illustrated using body building and health improvements Mechanics Illustrated could use all concepts Time using health improvements, alternative to jogging and family gym concepts 4. Amor effective way of approaching this situation would be if the company chose the most effective magazine that would fit best with one of the positioning concepts and place all

piercing essays
piercing essays Despite the wishes of my mother, bod mod is my thing. I have 12 piercings (currently, I'm getting more as soon as I'm all healed up) and 2 tatoos (one of which I just got today, by the by). This little essay is about my most resent acquistion; my nipple rings. The first thing that you need to know is that my folks are both rather conservative. They have repeatedly warned me against coming home with a piercing in my face, other than my ears. They don't care what else I do, but if they can see it while talking to me, then it gets torn out. And if you knew my father, you'd know that they're serious. In their words, they don't want their daughter looking like a drug addict. Considering where we live, it's a valid fear. But I already had 4 holes in my lobes, one in my outer conch, and my belly button. So I was running out of places to puncture. After graduation, I got hit hard core by the piercing fever. So I logged onto BME (where I always go when I'm looking for inspiration), and found the pictures of nipple piercings. They were so cute! And just the right mix of femmy and kinky that is quickly becoming one of my trademarks. I had found what I wanted to do. Unfortunatly, I had to wait almost 2 months before I could carry out my plan. At the time, I was working at a paper mill, and wanted to avoid any possibly uncomfortable situations. So I started to research where I wanted to get them done. I had gone to 21st Century Studio of Tatoo the fall before to get my belly button done, and knew I didn't want to go back there. I hadn't been given any choice about jewelry, and was all in all unimpressed by the whole situation. But what did I expect from a tatoo parlor? I had heard lots of ads for Black Hole on the radio, and decided to go check it out. Built in a converted house, Black Hole is intimate, but not so much so that it could be called small. There's a waiting area and the main desk downstairs, with several display cases of all kin...

Boston Massacre Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Boston Massacre - Essay Example tle distanceâ⬠while he avoided any subjective sentiment which might be necessary as the captain further testified that the boisterous crowd threatened them with increasing riots and exclamations of insulting phrases from the civilians. Pictures of the ââ¬ËBoston Massacreââ¬â¢, however, exhibit an opposing view presenting how armed soldiers line up as if due to a deliberate scheme of firing at the townspeople in protest. A primary witness Theodore Bliss attested ââ¬Å"I did not hear any order given by the captain to fire ââ¬â I stood so near him I think I must have heard him if he had given an order to fire before the first firing.â⬠On the contrary, another witness Robert Goddard claimed ââ¬Å"I saw no person speak to him ââ¬â I was so near I should have seen it ââ¬â After the captain said ââ¬ËDamn your bloods! Fire! ââ¬â They all fired one after another.â⬠Apparently, these are quite contradictory statements indicating that one of them must be fabricating a story in order to conceal the real truth and save the side in his favor. This likely puts the credibility of such testimonies shown under question, granted that they depict uncertainties, emotional tone of accusation in exa ggerating detail, and surprisingly missing information about logical links between occurrences told. Based on the historical timeline demonstrating how one act led to another, the American Revolution was at its reasonable heights having originated from imposition of additional taxes on common products by the British Parliament, pressing the colonists to struggle with their already burdened state of economy and standard of living at the time. Hence, truth may seek its way to justice through it and Prestonââ¬â¢s calm explanation of the matter that the captain can be judged to have truly not committed the crime with the shooting order. He ought not to be labeled as guilty of commanding to fire, nevertheless, he should still be held responsible for not attempting to suppress his subject troops from firing

Karma Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Karma - Essay Example It is an origin of ancient India used by religions. These religions included Hindu, Buddhist and Jain. In a religious view, karma is sometimes viewed as a way of punishing wrong doers. In the modern century, karma has lost its sensitivity as many people only believe in justice through legal bodies or revenge. Psychologists argue that this is caused by the lack of sensitivity and religious roots in the society. In India religions like Hindu, Buddhist and Jain hold significance sensitivity when it comes to karma. This paper will focus on the perspective of karma depending by the three religions. Additionally, the paper will highlight the difference between the beliefs associated with karma from the three religions. The nature of karma in Hinduism Hinduism strongly associates karma with God. This is the factor that makes differentiate their belief from Jain and Buddhism. In the latter religions, karma is not associated with any deity as everyone is believed to reap the effects of their actions in one way or another. In Hinduism karma is either a blessing or curse from God. Hinduism also has a perception that karma is not a punishment from God but is the resultant of someoneââ¬â¢s action. Additionally, karma is generated and executed from the will of God. Karma in Hindu is executed by the slogan I you sow goodness you will reap goodness but if you sow wickedness you will reap wickedness. ... The nature of Karma in Jainism In Jainism, "karma" exhibits a completely different explanation from that usually understood in Hindu philosophy and other western religions. In Jainism, karma is known as karmic dirt, since it consists of very fine and microscopic elements that spread through the entire world. Karma is lured to the karmic field of a living thing because of its vibrations created from the activities of brain, dialogue, and body plus various cerebral dispositions. Therefore, karma can be referred to as the consciousness of a living thing. When Karma and consciousness are combined the life we live at the presented is created. The main reason why the understanding of karma in Jainism is different from other religions is that: 1. Karma is a natural occurring phenomenon which does not need any external force to direct its effects. 2. Jainism holds the perception that the karma of a living thing is changed not only by actions but also thoughts. 3. According to the Jain theolo gy, a living thing is introduced to the world when their karma can handle the worldly occurrences. 4. The karmic hypothesis in Jainism functions endogenously. 5. Jainism has the assumption that every soul has a capability of having nirvana and for this reason every soul should be treated equally. The nature of karma in Buddhism In this religion, karma is classified as cause and not a result. It is defin3ed by causes and effects rather than the effects caused by karma. In Buddhism, karma is dictated by the ability of a person to plant the seeds of goodness in their thoughts and brain in order to have good actions. The results resulted from ones actions are not classified as karma as since the fruits of oneââ¬â¢s actions can be changed the

Regulation of Solicitors' Trust Accounts Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Regulation of Solicitors' Trust Accounts - Essay Example Summary of the Acts Section 3.3of both the Acts deals with ââ¬Å"trust money and trust accountsâ⬠. This session involves several regulatory measures that would secure consumersââ¬â¢ interests in the legal service market. The Acts contain the provision for suspending stated operations associated with the solicitorsââ¬â¢ trust accounts. They require solicitors to maintain a general trust account and accurate trust records, and present them before an eternal examiner for cross checking. The main intention of this provision is to increase the reliability of trust accounts and thereby secure consumer confidence. The Acts have also defined a set of condition for closing a general trust account. As per the provision, a law practitioner has the responsibility to deposit the trust money in the general trust account at the earliest possibility. The Legal Professional Act 2007 clearly states that disbursement of trust money must be under the direction given by the particular person. This provision will ensure that trust money is safe under the custody of solicitor until the time of disbursement. In addition, section 37 of this Act holds provisions for secure withdrawal of trust money from a general trust account. This provision also adds value to consumer confidence, because it prevents deceitful withdrawal of trust money (Legal Profession Regulation Act 2007). Similarly, section 38 deals with payment of trust money through electronic fund transfer. It is one of the major provisions of the Act that secures consumer confidence to a great extent because probability of fraud is higher in electronic fund transfer. Section 42 directs solicitors to systematically record various transactions in trust ledger accounts as this method will be effective to distinguish between trust accounts of different clients. The Regulation Act also specifies journal transfer principles regarding transfer of trust money from a general trust account to another. It also insists to provide necessary and timely notifications to concerned beneficiaries. In addition, it is mandatory to issue trust account statements to the beneficiaries of the trust money. This type of provision helps consumers to keep in frequent touch with their account transactions. The regulation of solicitorsââ¬â¢ trust account would assist consumers to ensure that their money is not misused for the benefit of third parties. According to the perception of Queensland Law Society (n.d), the strict regulation measure would prevent any type of unfair practice related with trust accounts. The most attractive feature of these Acts is that consumers are allowed to get informed of their account status. The Legal Profession Act 2007 The Legal Profession Act 2007 specifically states that the trust accounts should not be used for paying off any type of debt. This

College Admissions Essay: Art Therapy and Animal Therapy :: College Admissions Essays
Art Therapy and Animal Therapy à As another wave of excited, hopeful seniors pack their cars for college, the community that nurtured them watches them go with nostalgia and anticipation at what these bright new adults will make with the talents bestowed on them and with the mountains of opportunity available to them. The students are brimming with anticipation also - what possibilities await them! As I take my place with my fellow classmates, I watch my old community fade into the distance and wonder how I will contribute to my community in the future. à My career choices have varied throughout the years with a colorful strand threading my love for animals, art and people. I intend to major in psychology with a minor in art. My dream is to help people through my compassion and creativity. Art therapy and animal therapy are exciting fields of work hungry for new talent and well-educated, dedicated professionals. My love of these lines of work stems from having witnessed the wrinkled hand of an infirm, elderly woman stroke the soft fur of a dog, immediately brightening and starting to communicate her first words in years. I have also understood the intense relief of parents of a sick, depressed child whose interest in her artwork sparks renewed interest in the world around her. My artistic ability, strength in science, love of animals and passion for bettering the lives around me give me daily reasons why I know I am committed to this field. à However, the reasons do not stop there. I want to extend my vision into the community, perhaps starting a program in my church community that involves participants taking small pets on their visits to nursing home residents. I could even involve surrounding youth groups in work on art projects with the youth at our local children's home. Getting the community involved in such projects opens new outlets of creativity to flow into a cause I am so passionate about. Plus, the participation can be a healing, nurturing experience on both sides. With my sometimes-stubborn determination and enthusiasm for this endeavor, I will be able to involve my community in worthwhile efforts to improve the conditions of many of those who need most need assistance.
